Is it for me?
This course is suitable for you as an NDT Technician who wishes to gain formal certification for visual inspection of in-service components/structures. This course is a pivotal step for an NDT Inspector looking to follow a career path leading to Offshore Inspection Engineer, and is integrated into the modular CSWIP Plant Inspector Scheme.
For this one-week training course, including examination, is for candidates who hold two valid NDT Level 2 ISO 9712 certificates in Ultrasonic Inspection and one other Level 2 NDT method and have twelve months verified offshore experience.
Please note:
In order to be awarded OVI certification candidates must hold a valid CSWIP Welding Inspection certificate.
What will I learn?
The topics covered include inspection of structures, an overview of in-service defects, and corrosion and deterioration processes. You will also learn about reporting systems, relevant legislation, and painting and coating inspection.
The training course meets BS EN ISO 9712 requirements, and assessments include visual and dimensional of relevant samples together with coating inspection.
