PCN certificate holders urged to check expiry dates

PCN certificate holders urged to check expiry dates

TWI is recommending that PCN certificate holders check the expiry dates of their certificates, as BINDT is soon to introduce changes to its recertification conditions.

From 1 January 2017, all PCN recertification exams must be taken at least six weeks before the expiry date of the certificate. This means anyone whose certificate expires in January or early February 2017 may need to schedule their recertification exams for before the end of 2016.

Anyone who fails to satisfy this condition will face late application fees and possible delays in their recertification.

Recertification timeframe examples:

  • If your certificate expires on 6 January, you must have taken your recertification exam by 25 November
  • If your certificate expires on 17 February, you must have taken your recertification exam by 6 January
  • If your certificate expires on 31 March, you must have taken your recertification exam by 17 February
