TWI Azerbaijan’s first CSWIP 3.1U underwater inspection course hailed a success

The first group of students to undertake underwater inspection training at TWI’s new facility in Azerbaijan have successfully completed the CSWIP 3.1U course.

The seven students, originating from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and the Middle East, finished the eight-day course earlier this month. Their feedback was universally positive, praising the quality of the facilities, instruction, examinations, and staff support.

TWI’s underwater facility in the Azerbaijani capital Baku opened in December 2015. A joint venture with local diving and underwater specialist company Dalgidj, the training centre features a 10m2 by 7.5m deep pool, modern equipment, classrooms and a restaurant. Training is delivered by qualified lecturers able to offer tuition in English, Russian and Azeri.

Courses on offer at the underwater training facility include the following:

Baku, the largest city on the shore of the Caspian Sea, is an ideal location for underwater training. Situated in a key region for the oil and gas industry, the city has good hotels, excellent facilities and well-established transport links.

TWI is the only training provider that offers CSWIP training and examinations at the same facility. Alongside its underwater inspection courses, TWI offers a broad range of industry training in Baku: view the whole course schedule for details.
