For the first time this April, TWI Middle East co-ordinated and ran a CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector - Level 2 course in the Aldgate
Congress Resort, Port Harcourt, Nigeria. There were 20 candidates on the course,
who received expert tuition from Muhammad Islam, an experienced lecturer from TWI.
3.1 Welding Inspector - Level 2 is an internationally recognised qualification
and has long been one of the most popular training courses delivered by TWI. It
has been used and recognised by industry for over forty years and by certifying
candidates’ level of competence, gives organisations the confidence they need in
their staff’s ability and skill.
Global organisations often quote CSWIP qualifications when setting out their specification
documents for tender, as they know and trust the CSWIP brand. Candidates benefit
from taking the course as they gain a worthwhile and recognised qualification that
undoubtedly enhances their career prospects, and also broadens their knowledge in
a variety of disciplines including metallurgy, non-destructive testing, welding
processes and destructive testing.
3.1 Welding Inspector - Level 2 course is suitable for welders, operators,
line inspectors and foremen who undertake visual examination of welded joints as
well as for quality control staff associated with welding and all staff who need
basic training in welding inspection coupled with a qualification in this field.
There are currently plans to extend TWI training throughout Africa, namely in South
Africa, Sudan, Nigeria, Cameroon, Namibia and Angola. For further information or
