 TWI Welding Instructor wins Gold Medal at the MySkills - ASEAN 2010 Welding Competition

Muhazemir Kamarudin represented Malaysia and won Gold Medal in the MySkills - ASEAN Competition which took place recently at the Centre for Instructor and Advanced Skill Training (CIAST) in Shah Alam, Malaysia. It is the first competition held in the Asian Pacific region recognizing quality training instructors.

The seven Asian countries participating were Malaysia, Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines and Vietnam.

The gold medal was presented by the Deputy Minister of Human Resource Malaysia, Senator Datuk Maznah, to the ASEAN Champion, Muhazemir.

Muhazemir works as a Welding Instructor at TWISEA Training & Certification Sdn Bhd in Johor Bahru. He graduated in Welding Technology from CIAST in 2003.

Muhazemir's welding competition track record is very impressive. He started in 2004 with the Malaysia National Competition. In 2005, he entered the same event and won a Silver Medal.

He then took part in the ASEAN Skill Competition in 2006 at Brunei Darussalam and won Bronze Medal. In 2007, he represented Malaysia at the World Skill Competition in Shizouka, Japan and gained a certificate for participating. Not deterred, in 2008 and 2009, Muhazemir entered the MySkill National Competition Malaysia and both years won a Gold Medal.

Finally, Muhazemir won the Gold Medal at the MySkills - ASEAN Competition 2010.
