When a highly successful company based in the Middle East wanted to educate its supervisors, engineers, leader men and foremen it looked on a global scale for an organisation which could deliver such training to a high standard. It chose TWI.
Brian Hunt head of the Gulf region for TWI enabled this to happen by removing the confines of standard training courses and offering his client a flexible training programme designed around the company's training needs.
As a result of the very high demand across TWI's range of courses in the Middle East, TWI has expanded its training centre in Dubai.
During November new premises were opened within the Knowledge Village in Dubai. This location provides easy access from main arterial roads, and will also be serviced by the new Metro system, due to become operational by the end of next year.
Small and Medium Industries Development Corporation (SMIDEC) is the lead government agency responsible for co-ordinating the development of small and medium industries (SMIs).
Besides offering an advisory service relating to the development of industry, the agency provides training and development programmed for SMI entrepreneurs and the public.
Candidates taking exams in the UK can now check their provisional results on-line.
The service puts candidates in the picture with up-to-the-minute details of their exam results. It keeps candidates informed at all stages of the marking process.
TWI's Weldspec is an easy-to-use software program for managing your welding procedure information... such as Welding Procedure Specifications (WPSs) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQRs).
It includes the code rules from EN/ISO 15614, ASME IX and AWS D1.1 and helps you create code compliant PQRs including ranges of approval, essential variables and test requirements. It then writes the WPSs for you.
TWI's diploma courses now contribute towards the award of your degree under the UK national Credit Accumulation Transfer Scheme.
If you're studying with the OU, or would like to, your existing credits count towards your degree. Just apply for a credit transfer by completing a short form and show them your TWI Diploma.
