George Gkosdis Opens Up About Training at TWI

George Gkosdis recently took the PAUT level 3 course at TWI Cambridge.

We spoke to George, who works for EDF energy as an NDT inspection engineer, about his experience of the training and how it will help him in his work.

Starting the conversation in our interview, we asked George if he can let us know about himself and his responsibilities at work. George explained how he works for EDF energy as an NDT Inspection Engineer in a hybrid working environment, saving travel time and costs. He said the flexibility makes him work at ease and he gets time to relax as well.

He further continued to speak about his day-to-day activities, where he does document reviews for HPC projects, involving procedures, inspection reports, justifications, etc. In addition to that, he is involved in the development of the inspection procedures and techniques to be used in the power plant.

George previously took MT3 and UT3 with us at TWI before opting to take the PAUT level 3 course. Talking about his decision to take this specific version of the course, George said, “I knew the tutor, Alex Tsougranis, I really enjoy his method and approach and the way the courses are being conducted, involving a more interpersonal approach.” For him, the content of the course in his words was, “excellent and very detailed.”

“I believe this is the best training school in the UK,” George added, “(with) lots of in depth knowledge and very helpful people.”

George spoke about his excellent experience with the tutors before revealing that he is looking for multiple subjects to study next and might take ToFd L2/L3, PT3, welding inspection or site lead auditor courses.
