What will I learn?

The course will provide a short introduction to the qualification of welding procedure, the lecturer will describe the background to the  revision of ISO 15614-1 and will then go through the standard clause-by-clause, focusing on the technical changes from the previous version of the standard. The rationale behind the changes and the practical implications will be explained.

Candidates will then be able to ask specific questions in a Q&A session.

Approximate timing:

  • Presentation on the two standards - 10am to 12noon (may extend further)
  • Lunch - 12-1pm
  • Q&A - 1 to 3pm

What will I leave with?

  • Familiarise with the latest edition of BS EN ISO 15614-1:2017
  • Understand the rationale behind the changes and their implications

What else should I know?

The course will be delivered by a TWI Welding Engineer and member of the ISO committee responsible for the ISO 15614-1 standard.

Participants will be provided with a copy of ISO 15614-1:2017 for use during the course. Due to copyright reasons, all copies must be returned at the end of the day.
