Business and Management Skills Training from TWI

For the engineer or technologist the requirements of the modern workplace go beyond the essential competencies associated with his or her technical job function. They also embrace other skills and knowledge associated with the business processes and management of complex organisations.

TWI has a proven track record of delivering technical training to engineers and is expanding its training portfolio with a new suite of Business and Management Skills training courses, aimed at helping individuals develop the wider set of competencies required for the workplace.

Scheduled to start on 6 September 2012, Intellectual Property for Engineers and Technologists is the first of these new courses to be delivered initially in Abington, UK. The course draws on TWI's extensive experience in developing and managing innovation and the associated intellectual property that goes with it. This is a practical course for engineers designed by engineers. The course will cover topics such as ownership, reasons for protection, types of protection and exploitation. It will also consider Intellectual Property policy decisions as part of an organisation's innovation management approach. This course is ideally suited to engineers and technologists in the early stage of their career.
