Plant integrity management training - an update
As mentioned in our June 2011 newsletter, the
Plant Integrity management training has been restructured and now comes
under the CSWIP Plant Inspection Levels 2 and 3 training programme.
The training is predominately based around asset integrity management skills, focusing
on inspection and maintenance planning, integrity assessment and repair based around
API and ASME standards and best practice.
TWI held the first pilot training course in September at their Abington training
centre in the UK. The training covered four of the seven available modules that
make up the CSWIP Plant Inspection Levels 2/3 programme. The four modules were:
(Damage
Mechanism Assessment ,
Risk Based Inspection,
Fitness-for-Service and
Weld Repair of Pressure Equipment).
The course was well attended with an average of 16 students on each module; the
students' feedback was positive - they found the training very intensive but agreed
that it met their needs.
TWI will be offering further Plant Inspection Levels 2 and 3 training in 2012 at
Abington, UK and intends to run courses in South East Asia and the Middle East.
