Ten candidates have just become the first group of students to attend a CSWIP 3.1
training course organised by TWI in Baghdad, Iraq.
TWI has been offering training courses in Iraq since 2013, but this is the first
time one has taken place in the capital. The ten candidates who completed the course
were all Iraqis living in Baghdad.
Despite the ongoing instability in the capital, the fact that it is the location
of the head offices of many of the public and private sector organisations involved
in Iraq’s oil and gas industry means there is strong demand there for industry training.
Having completed the CSWIP Welding Inspector course, the candidates are now well
placed to gain employment in the country’s oil and gas industry. And because CSWIP
certification is internationally recognised, they will be eligible for similar opportunities
all over the world.
Baghdad has become the third place in Iraq where CSWIP training can be undertaken,
the other two being Basra in the south of the country, and Erbil in the north.
Details of upcoming courses at those two locations can be found on the course schedule page of the TWI Training website. Another
CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector is planned to take place in Baghdad this July; e-mail
