TWI’s training and certification courses are now available under the Skills Development Fund scheme

In 2000 the Malaysian government established a Skills Development Fund (TPK) to provide financial assistance in the form of loans and funding in order to up-skill the local workforce.

TWI’s training and certification courses are now available under the Skills Development Fund scheme

In view of the high demand for TWI courses in Malaysia, we have taken steps to ensure that Malaysians have access to our training and certification programs through this scheme. There are currently three courses available for loan application under PTPK’s “Skill Development Loan for Working Adults” scheme.

The selected courses are:

CSWIP Senior Welding Inspection 3.2 Level 3 – an internationally recognised welding inspection program
NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) – a health and safety environment program
EWF/IIW International Welding Specialist (IWS) – a welding engineer program

In the near future, more courses will be made available under this scheme to ensure that Malaysians are able to benefit from TWI’s presence in Malaysia.

The fund is managed by the Skills Development Fund Corporation (PTPK). The function of PTPK is to provide skills training loans to Malaysian individuals to make it possible for school leavers, graduates, existing workers and others to pursue essential skills education at public or private skills training providers accredited by The Department of Skills Development. More details can be found on PTPK’s website at ptpk.gov.my.
