UK NDT lecturer heads to Spain

In 2010, phased array training went from strength to strength and the courses at TWI's Training Centres in Middlesbrough, Abington and Aberdeen in the UK were well subscribed.

The year ended on a high with one of TWI's UK Lecturers heading to Spain to deliver a course for ten technicians at SGC Tecnos in Madrid. Following his previous positive training experience with TWI, the NDT Technical Manager knew TWI would offer quality, flexibility and tailor the training to his company's needs.

Both the course and the CSWIP examination were translated into Spanish and delivered through a translator as seven of the ten candidates had limited English skills. The language barrier was overcome with ease, thanks to the translator's ability to flawlessly translate English into Spanish and the individual high calibre of the SGS Technicians.

All training and exam resources were shipped from the UK and the lecturer was able to facilitate simultaneous training on AGR TD Focus Scan and Olympus Omniscan equipment.

Following the success of the programme at SGC Tecnos, TWI has been approached by other companies based in Europe and South America for similar courses.

2011 started well too with TWI also providing phased array tailor-made courses to one of the major energy companies in the UK.
