TWI Training’s offering in Malaysia continues to expand, with the addition of new
affiliated courses to its programme.
Newly introduced courses cover areas including underwater welding, underwater bolt
tensioning and a selection of health and safety topics.
One of the latest additions is ‘Hydraulically torque and tension bolted connection
techniques’, the first delivery of which took place earlier this year. Covering
essential skills for technicians and engineers working with hydraulic bolt tensioners,
the two-day course was approved by the Engineering Construction Industry Training
Board, a UK government-affiliated industry training organisation.
Candidates who successfully completed the course were awarded internationally recognised
certification, receiving qualifications that will make them more valuable to employers
all over the world.
Another first for TWI’s training team in Malaysia came with the delivery of an ‘API
Q1 and Q2 technical application for lead auditor (TALA)’ course, provided in collaboration
with Wollam Petroleum Advisory Group.
The course is the only fully accredited training programme covering both the API
specifications and qualifying auditors to carry out audits in accordance with them.
By the end of the course, candidates had completed a full audit, undergone a competency
assessment and taken a written exam.
The candidates who completed the course each received five continuing education
units, accredited by the International Association of Continuing Education and Training.
They also received a registered professional number, recognised globally throughout
the oil and gas industry.
These courses are part of a range of more than ten TWI-affiliated courses that have
recently been added to the selection available at the state-of-the-art facility
in Kuala Lumpur. The other newly introduced courses are as follows:
