TWI and IQS support activities relating to the safety of life and property across the globe, have launched an international vocational training initiative to upskill people in South African countries with specific focus on improving safety standards in the work environment.

The Africa Skills Enhancement Programme (ASEP) is an exciting opportunity to deliver a programme with international impact, tackle in-country skills shortages and reduce occupational fatalities by bringing engineering-related skills and education to disadvantaged and under-represented groups.

With centres all around the globe, TWI is the world’s largest provider of welding technology and inspection related training for individuals and companies alike.

Inspection and Quality Services

Established in 1989, IQS provides engineering, mining, oil, gas, power and petrochemical industries with project SHEQ management, inspection, NDT and training services.

Who is the scheme aimed at?

TWI will work with local partners (government and industry) to make financial assistance available to South African nationals wishing to pursue a career in Welding, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), Occupational Health and Safety (HSE), Blasting and Painting, and Plant Inspection.

The training is ideal if you are seeking to gain employment through upskilling or furthering their career in current employment. Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

Experienced or inexperienced, there is a training course for you. Bursaries/subsidies are awarded to candidates who meet the entry requirements so check the entry requirements for each course before submitting an application.

Financial assistance?

ASEP offers partial and in some cases full scholarships/bursaries towards the cost of training.

Any remaining course fees should be paid by you, your employer, government schemes (e.g. apprenticeships) or other national/international charities.
