The course is ideal for inspectors who require preparation for the practical part of the CSWIP 10-year renewal examinations for Welding Inspector levels 1, 2 or 3. A half-day practical-only session is also available - please contact Customer Services for more information.

What will I learn?

The training modules have been designed to provide training and instruction in the requirements for the various bridging examinations. Information includes how to identify various weld imperfections (defects), how to understand the relevant welding technology related to visual inspection, and how to carry out visual inspection of welds, report on them and assess their compliance with specified acceptance criteria.

  • Enrolment on this course does not constitute reservation of an examination. All courses may be followed by a CSWIP Welding Inspector examination for candidates with appropriate experience as specified in CSWIP document WI-6-92. All CSWIP documents are available from www.cswip.com

Please be aware that the Welding Inspection refresher packages are mixed levels and will cover theory and practical depending on class requirements. You could be in a class of CSWIP Visual, CSWIP Welding Inspectors and Senior Welding Inspector.
Please note that refresher training is designed to support and guide you in preparing for your upcoming retest or renewal assessment. The session will revisit key topics, reinforce essential knowledge, and provide clarification where needed to help strengthen your understanding.
However, it is important to understand that refresher training is not a substitute for independent study. All candidates are expected to take responsibility for their own learning by carrying out thorough revision and additional preparation in their own time. Engaging in personal study alongside the refresher session will significantly improve your readiness and confidence for the examination.
