A Plant Inspector must have both welding inspection and NDT qualifications. They must also be familiar with the range of different process equipment (pressure vessels, pipelines and storage tanks) and degradation mechanisms that will have an effect on fitness-for-purpose.

What kind of role will I be able to fit into once I pass Plant Inspection at Level 1?

The CSWIP qualification is highly regarded both onshore and offshore worldwide. Your role would normally involve a certain amount of supervision along with direct inspection of pressure equipment , storage tanks and pipelines in accordance with the respective codes and standards. Some Plant Inspectors will find careers in the insurance industry with companies like Lloyd's, Zurich and Allianz.

Once I have passed CSWIP Plant Inspection at Level 1, what are my options for advancement?

Having passed at Level 1 the next stage would be Level 2 Plant Inspection where you could study in much more detail the following in module format:

Damage Mechanism Assessment for RBI and FFS based on API RP 571
Risk Based Inspection (RBI) in accordance with API 580 Recommended Practice
Fitness-for-Service based on API 579-1 and ASME FFS-1
Weld Repair of Pressure Equipment and Piping
Pressure Vessel Inspection based on API 510
Piping Inspector based on API 570
Aboveground Tank Inspector based on API 653
Having passed CSWIP Level 2 Plant Inspection you would join a very select group of professionals who are highly sought after in the insurance world and the oil and gas industry worldwide. Their salaries reflect the importance of their role in the fitness-for-purpose of pressure equipment worldwide.

When completing your enrolment form, please ensure you enter your e-mail address clearly.

How do I know my results are available to view online?

You will receive an e-mail notification giving you the link to where you will be able to view your results.

What do I need to do to access my results online?

  • Go to www.twitraining.com . On the top bar, click on ‘Exam Results’
  • Enter your candidate number, exam date, date of birth and press ‘Submit’
  • If it is a retest, please make sure that you enter the retest date and not the initial exam date
