Course success qualifies candidates for reviewing welding procedures to ASME IX

A group of students have become the first to successfully complete a first-of-its-kind course designed to give personnel the competence needed to assess compliance with ASME IX.

TWI launched the course, Certification of Personnel Reviewing Welding Procedures to ASME IX, at the beginning of the year. The four-day programme leads to internationally recognised CSWIP certification, and is perfect for welding inspectors, quality assurance or quality control personnel and welding co-ordinators.

The first group of students to take the course all passed the associated CSWIP exam, demonstrating that they have a thorough comprehension of the ASME IX standard and how it should be applied. Covering areas including essential and non-essential variables, formulating welding procedures, welding procedure specifications and welder qualification, the course covered everything they needed to know to evaluate a welding procedure to the industry standard.

Additional courses are scheduled to run throughout 2016. If you would like to further your career, learn new skills and make yourself more attractive to potential employers, visit the Certification of Personnel Reviewing Welding Procedures to ASME IX course page for more details.
