For many years TWI has been delivering NDT and welding inspection courses in Busan, Korea, an area known as the centre of heavy industry for offshore, shipbuilding and automotive. Recent years have seen a notable increase in CSWIP examinations due to companies such as POSCO, DSME, SAMSUNG, STX and many welding related companies choosing TWI to deliver their training to CSWIP certification due to their reputation within industry and quality guarantee.

CSWIP is a world leader in personnel competence assurance with over 40,000 certified individuals worldwide. It provides internationally recognised, role-specific competence for people engaged in welding, joining, materials integrity and inspection in manufacturing, construction, operation or repair of high integrity structures, plant or machinery. The schemes are UKAS-accredited to ISO/IEC 17024, the international standard for personnel certification. TWI also run NEBOSH certification schemes; globally recognised health and safety qualifications which are intended for companies or individuals working to international standards with regards to Health, Safety & Environment as the courses focus on the International Labor Standards (ILO) codes of practice.

Currently scheduled courses include:

BGAS-CSWIP Painting Inspector - Grade 2/3
Basic Radiation Safety (BRS) CSWIP/PCN)
NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
Radiographic Testing (RT) – Welds CSWIP/PCN

Busan itself makes a fantastic venue to carry out the training, as it is home to Haeundae beach, the largest beach in Korea, Korea’s longest river, and many five stars hotels. It has been host city to the Asian Games and a FIFA World Cup, and it is also home to the world's largest department store, the Shinsegae Centum City.
