Creating the Engineers of the Future
TWI has been successfully delivering the
South East Asia Skills Enhancement Programme
(SEASEP) at a number of engineering colleges
across India. The programme, which has been
delivered by TWI-India, is funded by the
UK-based charity organisation Lloyd’s Register
Foundation (LRF).
There has been a rise in the demand for skilled
engineers due to the digital transformation
of today’s industries and SEASEP provides
an opportunity to deliver training with
a genuine international impact. While the
training brings engineering-related skills
to disadvantaged and under-represented groups
in India, it also helps reduce occupational
fatalities by teaching best practice and
health and safety information.
TWI-India is also reaching out to colleges
to offer work experience opportunities and
delivering the globally-recognised CSWIP
Visual Welding Inspector course. Among the
colleges who have been contacted was the
CSI College of Engineering, near Ooty, Ketti,
Tamil Nadu, whose mechanical engineering
department students and professors were
pleased to attend the training and complete
the final examination.
TWI-India delivers the welding inspection
training course with genuine real-life experience
which helps build on the trainees’ knowledge
while also demonstrating potential career
growth and worldwide employment opportunities.
By keeping the next generation of engineers
engaged, focused and inspired we can build
a pool of skilled engineering talent for
the future of industry.
