First Candidate Completes MT/PT Blended Learning Course

Welder and welding inspector, Michael Lennox is the first candidate to complete our magnetic particle and penetrant testing combined blended learning course.

This was not the first time Michael had trained with TWI, having previously taken his CSWIP Welding Inspection training with us. He decided that he wanted to add more qualifications to his CV to open up more job opportunities, so paid for the course himself. He opted for the blended learning option in order to cover both courses at once, saving himself time in the process.

Although the course was online, Michael found the process “excellent, easy to use and very helpful,” while he also had ongoing support and feedback from TWI lecturers during his studies.

Michael noted that it was important to read through the course notes thoroughly, but was impressed with the support he received from the lecturing staff, in particular Brian Welsh, who Michael said was “excellent and very helpful,” adding that he “learnt a lot from him in the little time we had together.”

Michael opted for the PCN certification as it is more highly accredited in his line of work and would be happy to recommend TWI to colleagues, noting the great lecturers and professional and efficient training, calling the whole thing a “great experience.”

Having become the first trainee to successfully complete this blended learning course, Michael now hopes to land a new job in welding inspection and we wish him all the best for the next stage of his career.
