Introduction to Robotic Welding: A Half-Day Overview

The Arc Welding team at TWI offers a range of targeted topic training sessions, including a half-day course titled, ‘Introduction to Robotic Welding.’ This short-format session is designed to provide an accessible starting point for those looking to understand how robotic systems are used for welding applications.

The course introduces the fundamentals of robotic welding, such as how robots are programmed, typical areas of use, and the advantages automation can bring to welding processes, including increased efficiency, repeatability, and workplace safety. The content is delivered in a straightforward, non-technical manner, making it suitable for participants with limited prior experience.

The Introduction to Robotic Welding is one of several specialised courses from TWI’s arc welding experts. Other courses include:

  • Welding Back to Basics – 1 day
  • Minimising Porosity when Welding Aluminium – 1 day
  • Welding Lecture (Warwick University) – 2 hours
  • Internal Course on ISO Welding Standards – 2 hours
  • Course on ISO 15614-1 (Welding Procedure Qualification) – Available in multiple formats
  • High Temperature Steels – 2 to 4 days

These courses are formulated as a flexible suite of training options aimed at supporting skills development across the welding community; whether through academic engagement, industry-specific training, or general knowledge-building.
