Starting today, the course for 3.1U - for professionals working beneath the surface, inspection is about far more than simply being able to dive. Subsea structures need to be assessed, recorded and monitored with the same level of care and technical precision expected above water — and that requires specialist skills.
The CSWIP 3.1U – NDT Inspection Diver course is designed for commercial divers looking to develop internationally recognised underwater inspection capabilities and take the next step in their professional journey.
Delivered through TWI Training, the programme combines theoretical instruction with practical underwater inspection techniques. Delegates develop skills in general underwater and close visual inspection, video and photographic recording, cathodic protection measurements and ultrasonic digital thickness measurements.
From the seabed to the inspection report
Subsea inspection can involve challenging environments where visibility, access and conditions can all affect how an inspection is carried out. Being able to recognise what to look for, capture useful evidence and take accurate measurements is therefore a critical part of the role.
Throughout the course, candidates build their understanding of subsea visual inspection while developing practical techniques that can be applied in real inspection environments.
The course also includes an end-of-course assessment and prepares eligible candidates to sit the CSWIP 3.1U examination.
