A welcome speech was followed by a montage from the IKON Technical Academy, before a speech was made by representatives of TWI and IKON Technical Academy, after which the signing took place.

The agreement will see TWI deliver welding and inspection training to IKON’s apprentices, whose apprenticeship programme will last for 24 months. The apprenticeship will include one month of training at TWI, where the students will learn crucial skills required by industry, before the apprentices gain on-the-job training and experience within industry.

The students will be monitored by TWI representatives throughout their training, which will finish with the award of certificates accredited by the Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam (JPA), the Malaysia Qualification Agency (MQA) as well as TWI.
