TWI Mentioned on Steph on Skills Podcast
TWI is delighted to share news of a recent feature in the latest episode of Steph on Skills: Powered by Enginuity, following a visit from the Rt. Hon. Baroness Jacqui Smith, Minister for Skills.
In August, Baroness Smith visited our TWI SEA office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where she met our CEO, Dr Caroline Gumble AWeldI, and was even given the opportunity to try her hand at welding.
It was during her exclusive podcast interview with Steph on Skills that Baroness Smith reminisced on this experience and referenced TWI while attending the EuroSkills Herning 2025 event in Denmark this week. With over 600 enthusiastic young people competing across a wide variety of skilled trades—including engineering—the event highlighted the energy and importance of nurturing talent for the future.
These themes strongly align with our mission at TWI, across our Professional Member community, Industrial Member community, and into wider industry—both in the UK and globally—we are seeing a consistent focus on the importance of skills, upskilling, training and apprenticeships. Supporting these priorities and enabling professional career progression is at the heart of what we do.
And there’s more to come. With exciting announcements on major events planned for the near future, TWI continues to drive forward the discussions that shape the future of engineering skills and training worldwide.
Stay tuned because the conversation around skills development is growing louder, and TWI is proud to be a part of it.
