TWI’s Underwater Inspection Diver Training in Middlesbrough
TWI Training is currently delivering the CSWIP 3.1U NDT Inspection Diver course at its Middlesbrough facilities, with three candidates attending the programme from 11–15 May 2026.
Focused on the specialist demands of subsea inspection, the course is designed to support professionals working within offshore and underwater environments where technical accuracy, inspection reliability, and operational safety are essential. Helping to develop specialist underwater inspection knowledge, inspection divers play a vital role in assessing the condition and integrity of offshore and marine structures, often operating in complex subsea environments where both diving capability and inspection expertise are required.
The CSWIP 3.1U course introduces candidates to the principles and application of non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques used within underwater inspection activities, including:
- Underwater inspection practices
- NDT inspection methods and procedures
- Defect identification and evaluation
- Inspection reporting requirements
- Safe working approaches within subsea operations
The programme combines technical learning with industry-focused context relevant to real inspection scenarios.
Focused Learning in a Small Group Environment
With three candidates currently attending the course, the programme provides a focused training environment that encourages technical discussion, instructor interaction, and detailed exploration of inspection techniques. Smaller group delivery can help support a more engaging learning experience, particularly within specialist technical disciplines such as underwater inspection and NDT.
This qualification helps you in supporting skills across offshore and marine sectors, as offshore infrastructure continues to require regular inspection, maintenance, and integrity assessment. The need for skilled inspection divers with NDT knowledge remains important across major industries.
Training programmes such as CSWIP 3.1U are designed to support the continued development of inspection capability while helping professionals strengthen practical understanding within specialist subsea environments.
