Is it for me?

Aimed at designers and manufacturing staff either currently using or planning to use adhesives. This course is particularly relevant to those wishing to understand a technology that is being used more frequently to create new products. The course can either be used as foundation upon which to base good practice or as a useful refresher for those already using the technology.

Modern adhesive bonding technology means new opportunities: to make things better, more efficiently or in new ways. To exploit the benefits of adhesives and new adhesive bonding techniques, it is necessary to gain an understanding of the underlying science and technology, to appreciate that design rules have to be redefined and that the key to success is to use a trained workforce
that understands the process.

Running for four days, TWI's adhesive bonding technology course will address key aspects of a joining technology that is growing rapidly, both in terms of popularity and areas of application.

In addition, there will be opportunities to discuss specific applications or adhesion problems with TWI experts, either during the course or, if preferred, in confidence after the course ends.

Even if you are already using adhesives, the course will help you to go further and do more with confidence.

What will I learn?

This course will help you to understand the advantages offered by adhesives, in terms of functionality, fabrication time, cost, and design freedom. To use new material combinations which, in many cases, offer significant cost saving in product manufacturing compared to other joining  techniques, such as welding or fastening.
