This course is designed for you as an engineering, technical, operations, maintenance or inspection operative working within the oil and gas production, chemical process, power generation, utilities, commercial works (vendor) inspection organisation, classification society, or insurance company.

What will I learn?

This course will teach you about the roles and duties of the Plant Inspector, the use of codes and standards, and offer an introduction to pressure equipment. You will also learn about pressure vessels inspection, the inspection of pipelines, inspection of storage tanks, and inspection of paint systems and linings. The course also provides an introduction to risk-based inspection, inspection reporting and corrosion processes.

What will I leave with?

By the end of the course, you should be able to:

  • Understand the various fundamental aspects of plant inspection within industry
  • Provide formal Plant Inspector certification, due to:
    • Increasing demands for integrated asset management within process plants
    • Increasing complexity of plant systems
  • Meet the syllabus requirements of the CSWIP Plant Inspector Level 1 examination

What else should I know?

The fee includes the CSWIP examination.

This course (Module 1 Part B) has a duration of 1 week and is the second part of the 2 week CSWIP Plant Inspection Level 1 course.

The CSWIP examination will be conducted on day 5 at the end of each respective week.

Level 1 Week 1 must be completed prior to attending Level 1 Week 2.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
If you wish to attend the CSWIP Plant Inspection training course, you must submit a copy of your CV for review.  Ideally, you would hold qualifications in NDE and weld inspection, however, some flexibility regarding entry requirements can be offered to prospective students who hold academic qualifications and differing approvals/experience.
