Is it for me?

This course is designed for you as a member of QA/QC personnel, a welding inspector, welding engineer, welding co-ordinator, surveyor, or third party.

What will I learn?

While on this course you will learn about codes and standards, ASME IX introduction, ASME IX, QG – General, heat input, essential variables, non-essential variables, supplementary essential variables, mechanical properties, destructive testing and NDE, formulating welding procedures, QW procedure and WPS, training exercise WPS and PQR, welder qualification, welding performance and welders.

What will I leave with?

By the end of the course, you should be able to demonstrate that you can navigate through ASME IX as well as understand how a welding procedure is compiled against ASME IX and assessed for compliance to that standard/code.

TWI will provide the code for the course and examination. However, this will remain the property of TWI.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Hold a current valid CSWIP Welding Inspector Certificate with 2 years relevant experience
Hold a current valid CSWIP Welding Quality Control Coordinator, CSWIP Senior Welding Inspector or CSWIP Welding Supervisor Certificate
International Welding Inspector Standard Level Diploma with 5 years recent continuous experience in Welding Coordination
Canadian Welding Inspector Level 3
SAIW Welding Fabricator Inspector Level 2
Certified International Welding Specialist
A HNC in Welding Fabrication
5 Years recent continuous responsibility for Welding Coordination as defined in ISO 3834 Part 2 or Part 3
