Learning Options for Welding Inspection Training

Welding inspection is a crucial step in the process to accept or reject a weld. It requires knowledgeable personnel who are trained and certified to ensure that their decisions are correct, accurate, and consistent. The importance of welding inspection is highlighted by the many critical applications that it is required for, including those in oil and gas, nuclear power, defence, and aerospace.

So, if you are thinking of moving on from a general engineering or welding background to a more significant and specialised role, this is an excellent career choice to consider.

The CSWIP Welding Inspection programme offers you an internationally recognised qualification to prove your skills and knowledge based upon your competence as well as providing a clear route for career progression to senior welding inspector, a pre-requisite for many job applications.

The three CSWIP Welding Inspection courses below will allow you to build upon your existing knowledge and experience, depending on which qualifications you already have.

 Learning Options

  • eLearning: Reducing the required classroom-based training days to a minimum, this option allows you to work from home, at your own pace, in your own time. It covers the theory element of the course

  • Online Live: Delivery is via Zoom or similar video calling platforms and by TWI’s experienced lecturers. The live courses are delivered in slightly different ways according to your exact location and the associated global training centre. This option covers the theory aspect of the training exactly as it would be delivered in our classroom-based courses

  • Practical elements of the course for eLearning and online Live options will differ according to your region

  • Classroom-based: TWI is still offering our full classroom-based training options, depending on your region and the current pandemic situation locally
  • Weekend courses: Some of our regions offer The CSWIP Welding Inspector and CSWIP Senior Welding Inspector courses as weekend options – for more details, please contact your local TWI Training Centre

Examinations for all options will take place at your local TWI Centre in accordance with the relevant COVID-19 pandemic rules.

We also offer Refresher Training as classroom-based (Practical and/or Theory) or eLearning (theory) courses. These are designed to help you prior to re-taking an examination or prior to your CSWIP 10-year Welding Inspector renewal examinations.
