Is it for me?

Engineering management and supervisory staff, graduates, design engineers, draughtsmen, NDT technicians, artists, sculptors and anybody that would like to gain a better understanding of welding in general.

This course is also available with a certified inspection module: CSWIP 3.0 Plus - Visual Welding Inspector with Practical Module (4 days).

What will I learn?

Practical welding with the most commonly used welding processes: MMA,MAG and TIG; parameters used and their effects on the molten pool; features of the weld and correct terminology used in welding, control of consumables used welding imperfections.

What will I leave with?

By the end of the course, you should have a basic understanding of the principles of welding processes.

What else should I know?

  • Full protective equipment must be worn in the workshop areas, including steel toe capped footwear, safety glasses and flame resistant overalls. If you require equipment, please mention it on your enrolment form
  • Gloves and welding screens will be provided
